With 15 concerts covering the length and breadth of Australia, Colin’s God Rock DVD Launch Koorong tour has been declared a roaring success.
Kicking off with the Penrith and Canberra shows, Colin had an unexpected puppet guest…Tilly (short for Matlida), Nudge’s purple cousin, kindly standing in for Nudge, who, according to reports yet to be verified, was held up ironing his belly button fluff
collection. The new venue of Jamieson High was filled to capacity and Parkway Church, Kambah again played host to the Canberra Colin Concert. Big thanks to Tilly!
The tour picked up a week later with a 5 state, 13 concert marathon, this time with Nudge as sidekick.
A big thanks to Melbourne, Brisbane, Toowoomba and Mooloolabah Koorong store staffers who manned the Victoria and Queensland leg of the run.
With a quick long weekend break, Colin headed into the final dash, starting in Sydney with 3 hometown gigs, two at St Anne’s church Ryde and one at Covenant Christian School in Belrose.
Colin then popped over to Adelaide for a double header, following up the next day with two Saturday shows in Perth – the only shows still happening on site at a Koorong store. Once again, the indoor carpark was transformed by an army of workers to become the Colin concert hall!
“It’s amazing that what started as “a couple of songs in the corner of the kids section” has become a 15-year annual tour. Koorong have been such great partners in taking my songs to families across Australia. And it’s really interesting to see the kids grow up. In fact, this tour more than any before had a lovely smattering of teenagers who wanted to come and re-live the Colin songs of their childhood!”
Colin was not only celebrating not only the release of a new children’s Christian DVD, God Rock. Everyone who purchased Colin’s landmark CD or DVD, “The Songwriter Sessions” through Koorong during the tour was entered into a draw to win a private Colin House Concert – you never know, Colin may be heading back to Perth or Brisbane sooner than anticipated!
